Most travellers landing at Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benítez airport (SCL) aren’t staying in Santiago. They’re heading to the coast — Viña del Mar, Valparaíso, the Casablanca wineries — or straight to a cruise ship in Valparaíso or San Antonio. That’s the journey we specialise in. We’re based in Viña del Mar and have been driving this route since 1992: we know how long it really takes at each hour of the day, where the traffic builds, and how to get you to your ship with time to spare.

Flying in to board a cruise ship
This is the transfer where getting it right matters most. Many cruises that start in Chile embark in San Antonio or Valparaíso, and most flights from North America and Europe land at SCL early in the morning. On paper it works: land at 7:00, board in the afternoon. In practice there are three things to plan for.
- Don’t fly in on embarkation day if you can avoid it. A long-haul delay of a few hours can turn a comfortable connection into a missed ship. Arriving the day before — a night in Viña del Mar or Valparaíso — removes the risk entirely and gives you a first evening on the coast.
- If you must fly in the same day, leave margin. Immigration and baggage at SCL can take over an hour at peak times. We track your flight live and adjust the pickup, but the ship’s boarding window doesn’t move.
- Check which port your ship actually uses. Lines sometimes switch between San Antonio and Valparaíso at short notice. We confirm the terminal with you before the transfer and adjust the plan if it changes.

Turn the drive into part of the trip
The road from Santiago to the coast runs straight through the Casablanca Valley, one of Chile’s best cool-climate wine regions. If your flight lands in the morning and you’re not in a hurry, we can stop at a boutique winery for a tasting and lunch on the way. It turns a 90-minute transfer into your first afternoon in Chile, and adds only a few hours.

How the meet-and-greet works
- You send us your flight details when you book: flight number, arrival time and where you’re going.
- We track the flight live. If it lands early or late, the pickup moves with it.
- After customs, look for your name. Your driver waits in the public arrivals hall holding a sign with your name, and has a mobile number you can call or message on WhatsApp.
- Straight to your door. No shared vans, no stops to pick up other passengers, no detours.
Why a private transfer instead of a taxi or bus
For Santiago hotels, a ride-share app is often perfectly fine and cheaper. We say so openly. The case for a private transfer is strongest for the coast and the ports: airport taxis charge a premium for the 120 km run, buses to Viña and Valparaíso leave from terminals in the city rather than the airport, and neither will wait if your flight is late or help you with the luggage of a two-week cruise.

Can we book a return transfer too?
Yes. Many travellers book both legs together — airport to the coast on arrival, and the coast or cruise terminal back to the airport at the end of the trip.
