Valparaíso is a UNESCO World Heritage city, home to Chile’s National Congress and the country’s cultural capital. It grew by claiming land from the sea and the hills, and today its life is spread across more than 40 hills connected by century-old funiculars — still one of the most efficient ways to get around, and one of the city’s great attractions.
On this private tour your guide takes you through the most characteristic hills, where the architecture follows the slope — stairways, narrow lanes and coloured façades forming an amphitheatre above the bay — and then along the seafront of Viña del Mar, the Garden City, as far as the resorts of Reñaca and Concón.
