La Campana National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, protects one of the best-preserved sclerophyllous forests in central Chile, in the Coastal Range. Its trails wind through ravines of native flora, birdlife and viewpoints over the inland valleys, little more than an hour from Viña del Mar.
This private excursion combines coast and mountains: we leave early along the Concón coast road to Tabolango, continue through the inland valleys to the rural town of Olmué and reach Granizo, at the foot of La Campana hill. From there, a guided hike along the park’s marked trails to discover its flora, native trees and birds, with stops at the viewpoints to photograph the landscape.

Frequently asked questions
How difficult is the hike?
Moderate. You walk on marked trails with sustained climbs and some steep sections; no mountain experience is needed, but normal fitness and proper footwear are.
Why such an early departure?
To hike in the cool morning hours and make the most of the park. In summer it also avoids the midday heat.
What’s in the box lunch?
A light lunch to eat in the park. If you have any dietary restrictions, let us know when booking.
Can we climb to the summit of La Campana?
The standard excursion follows the trails of the Granizo sector without reaching the summit. The full ascent is a long, demanding day; ask us if you’re interested.
Can children come?
It isn’t designed for young children because of the physical effort involved. Ask us about the minimum age for your date and trail.
