Isla Negra is a small coastal village of summer houses that Pablo Neruda chose as his home in the late 1930s. His house, now a museum, overlooks the Pacific and holds the collections the poet gathered around the world: ships’ figureheads, seashells, bottles, maps and much more.

This private half-day tour leaves from your hotel, crosses the Casablanca Valley — famous for its Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards — and follows the region’s southern coast through the resorts of Algarrobo, El Quisco and El Tabo to Isla Negra, where we visit the poet’s house with admission included.

Admission to the Isla Negra house and opening hours

Admission to the house museum is included in this tour. The Pablo Neruda Foundation reports that entry is by order of arrival, with no advance time-slot booking, and offers audio guides in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German and Italian. The house opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 (until 19:00 in January and February); those are last-entry times. It is at Poeta Neruda s/n, Isla Negra, in the El Quisco district, and pets are not allowed. See the official visiting information.

Is admission to Neruda’s house included?

Yes. Admission to the Pablo Neruda House Museum in Isla Negra is included in the tour.

How long is the visit to the house?

The visit inside the house is done with the museum’s audio guide; allow about an hour. The rest of the time is spent driving along the coast and stopping at the seaside towns.

Which days is the museum open?

Tuesday to Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00 (until 19:00 in January and February); it does not open on Mondays. Entry is by order of arrival, with no time slots to book.

Can it be combined with the Casablanca wineries?

Yes. The road to Isla Negra crosses the valley, so a winery visit can be added to make it a full day. Just ask.
